Building‑department staff, led by Matt Gonzales (speaker 10), presented a proposal to adopt the 2024 International Code cycle and to incorporate the Colorado Low‑Energy and Carbon Code (LECC) for energy compliance. Gonzales said state law requires jurisdictions that amend their building code now to adopt the LECC and that all Colorado jurisdictions must eventually adopt LECC by 2030. "We are planning to go from the 2018 Icode cycle to the 2024 Icode cycle," Gonzales said, and described a proposed implementation and enforcement timeline with an anticipated enforcement date of Oct. 1, 2027 if the BOCC acts this fall.
