A legislative work group convened to consider creating the Melissa and Mark Hortman Memorial State Park on the Minnesota State Capitol grounds. Austin Turman, research analyst with the Legislative Coordinating Commission, said the group "must make recommendations for the creation of the Melissa And Mark Hortman Memorial State Park within the capital area as defined in statute." The work group’s report is due Feb. 1 and may include draft legislation.
