Calvert council opts for generator SEP to avoid TCEQ fine, acts on permits and variance

The council voted to offer the planned standby emergency generator as the city's Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP) in response to a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Proposed Agreed Order, a move described in the minutes as an alternative "in lieu of paying $34 thousand plus." Council Member Allen Wiese moved to submit the generator as the SEP, Council Member Bobbie Alford seconded, and the motion "carried" with all members voting in favor.
