Council approves variance for covered patio at 111 Davis Street

The Board of Adjustment approved a variance allowing a covered patio at 111 Davis Street, after staff said the request had been denied by code enforcement under the city’s setback rules. Chair (speaker 2) described the denial, saying, “Our code enforcement officer denied the request because the zoning ordinance section 27.20.3 states, carports, garages, or other accessory buildings located within the rear portion of the lot as heretofore described shall not be located closer than 15 feet to the main building nor near than 8 feet to any side lot.”
