Commission OKs RHID, development plan for Lincoln School conversion to housing

The commission adopted Ordinance No. 4105 establishing a Reinvestment Housing Incentive District and approved the development plan to convert the former Lincoln Elementary School into roughly 26–28 apartments and add seven fourplexes; the related IRB resolution was also adopted and the measures passed unanimously.

Assistant City Manager Jared Kuckelman outlined the developer’s plan to renovate the roughly 100-year-old Lincoln School building into an estimated 26–28 one- and two-bedroom rental units and construct seven fourplexes on the adjoining open space. "The owner does plan to remodel the 100 year old school into 26 to 28 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and then construct those 7 fourplexes," Kuckelman said while showing concept images and the proposed RHID boundaries.
