Monte Rio committee briefs public on planned goat grazing and short bridge closure

Park staff reported plans for a targeted goat grazing operation and an associated transhumance event in Monte Rio. "Approximately 150 goats will be arriving in Monte Rio on September 17 to target graze at the Christmas Tree lot and a smaller lot at the Community Center," staff said; about 40 of those goats will be moved across the Monte Rio Bridge on Sept. 18 and the bridge will be closed for a short period to accommodate the transfer.
