Jan 21, 2025

Weslaco ISD staff presented Benchmark 1 results showing solid 4th- and 5th-grade math performance but weaker reading (ELAR) results in some campuses; staff said they will wait for Benchmark 2 before recommending target changes and will consider campus-specific targets.

The full story

District staff presented results from Benchmark 1 (administered in November-December), showing math at grades 4 and 5 as a relative strength and more mixed results in ELAR (reading), particularly at 4th grade. "The cells, shaded in green are those who have met or surpassed the end of the year target," the presenter said while walking trustees through the slide deck. Staff noted the district's end-of-year targets and said they would collect more data before recommending any adjustments.
