Health board recommends Project Hub inspection software to commissioners

Tina Latham, the environmental inspector, presented a new inspection software package to the board that would manage food-establishment and pool inspections, body-arts permits, septic records, complaint intake and public posting of inspection reports. The platform includes a 10-day correction window before reports are posted publicly, which staff said is intended to give establishments time to remedy violations.

"They'll list the establishment, and they can click on that establishment, and it'll pull up the report," Latham said, describing the public-facing function. Board members discussed whether the system could handle health-hazard complaints and asked staff to confirm that feature with the vendor.

Following the presentation, Jacob Green moved that the board accept the Project Hub proposal and recommend it to the county commissioners "subject to Aaron's final legal review and negotiations," and the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The board asked staff to ensure the final agreement includes a line showing the health board's sign-off so the commissioners can see the department's recommendation.

Next steps: staff will complete legal review, finalize contract language with the vendor and forward the recommendation and signed agreement to the county commissioners.
