During the Nov. 10 special session, the council considered using the city’s four votes for the Rusk County Appraisal District (RCAD) board for the 2026–2027 term. Upon a motion by Councilmember Mary Jo Baird and seconded by Councilmember Robert Cotton, the council voted to cast all four votes for Nesha Partin; the minutes record the motion carried with five "ayes."
