At the start of the meeting the council announced event updates and recognitions: Officer Porter was recognized, the council noted a School Board and MLK Day of Service proclamations, and it recognized Mr. and Mrs. Thompson for toy donations. The agenda also introduced Lisa Youngblood as Smart Museum Program Manager and noted an Ellison High School field trip to the Smart Museum.
