The Board of Trustees authorized the Town of Berthoud to join an intergovernmental agreement with Central Weld County Water District and several nearby municipalities and districts to fund consulting engineering for a potential regional water‑treatment plant near I‑25 and Highway 56. Director of Public Utilities Ken Matthews said the contract with Jacobs totals $400,000 and that Berthoud’s share is $50,000, which is budgeted in the town’s professional services fund.
