"Project AWARE is a great Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, to be able to provide and continue to provide some mental health supports," the administrator said.
Staff explained the commitment does not guarantee funds; it signals readiness to partner and, if awarded, the division will engage in data collection, MTSS-coaching and mental-health leadership supports. The board approved the letter by voice vote and staff said they expect to hear about the grant within roughly a month.
