A newly appointed commissioner took the oath of office during the Jupiter Inlet Colony Commission meeting March 12, pledging to "support, protect, and defend the Constitution" and to "faithfully perform all duties of the office of commissioner." The oath was recited aloud and witnessed by the commission as part of the evening's installation proceedings.
