Ottawa County signs multicounty MOU for Strong Families/Safe Communities program
The Board authorized a Memorandum of Understanding with five neighboring counties for a Strong Families/Safe Communities collaborative (July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027). Each county may receive up to $30,530 annually; the motion passed unanimously.

The Board of Ottawa County Commissioners on Aug. 4 authorized the president to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Erie, Lucas, Sandusky, Seneca and Wyandot counties to participate in a multicounty collaborative for Strong Families/Safe Communities. "The MOU is effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. Each county will receive up to $30,530.00 annually," the meeting record states.
