Council and staff discussed a rezoning request for 350 Powerhouse Road, a parcel that moved from federal (FIR) to private ownership and therefore requires a new zoning district. Jennifer Williams, staff, laid out options: the property owner requested IND‑1/IND‑2 zoning, the Planning Commission recommended a large RG‑1 buffer (600 feet) that would encompass roughly 149 acres, and staff’s recommendation favored industrial zoning with a less intensive buffer near the river and preserve boundary.
