WisDOT brief: fatality totals down, WiSTAR and HSIP highlighted
WisDOT Bureau of Transportation Safety told the Price County commission that year-to-date fatality totals are down by 30 and described data tools (WiSTAR), the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP), and the upcoming "Zero in Wisconsin" conference on Aug. 24–25, 2026.

At the June 4 meeting, Todd Horn, law enforcement liaison with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Bureau of Transportation Safety, presented quarterly informational slides and statewide trends. Horn reported that "Wisconsin Fatality Totals have decreased by 30," compared with the same period in 2025, and said crash counts were "somewhat stable" between January and April 2026 with seasonal variations in winter road crashes.
