The board approved a request to sponsor the Community Foundation’s Connected Communities 5K with $5,000 paid from restricted hotel/motel tax (tourism) funds. The presiding officer said the event will be an annual run on the square and that the funding fits the community and tourism restrictions on the hotel/motel tax.
