County hears broadband progress report; Citizens aims to finish by June
County staff said the Citizens broadband rollout is progressing and aims for substantial completion by the end of June; staff noted completed construction on multiple roads, remaining easement challenges on private roads (Bertha Farms) and a potential customer base of roughly 8,000 if all hook up.

Deputy County Administrator (S5) and staff provided a detailed status update on the county broadband deployment being completed by Citizens. Work is wrapping up on multiple local roads (Old School Road, Fox Den Road, Harmon and Marble) and staff said contractors are targeting the eastern end of the county next, with Millers Creek expected to be among the last areas addressed.
