County Human Resources Director Beverly Churchill presented an update on the public-safety peer-support program, which the county branded RISE (Resilience, Integrity, Support, Empowerment). Churchill said the team comprises volunteers from six county agencies — volunteer fire departments, the sheriff's office, emergency medical services, the detention center, 911 communications, and the Centerville Police Department — and has already responded to four critical incidents since training.
