County accepts donation of mobile response shield for sheriff's SWAT team

The Randall County Commissioners Court on a unanimous vote accepted a donation of a mobile response shield for the sheriff’s office from the Texas Panhandle 100 Club.

Suzanne Cali, introduced in the record as the organization’s executive director, told the court “the main purpose of the 100 club is to to provide provide immediate benefits when a certified peace officer or firefighter is killed in the line of duty.” Sheriff (identified in the transcript by office) described the equipment as “it’s a it’s a mobile list of shield, that can be used with inside of of structures,” saying the device is intended for SWAT team responses and provides additional protection during interior entries. Commissioners thanked the group and moved to accept the donation; the motion carried 5–0.

Commissioners noted the 100 Club’s broader support for first responders, including rapid financial assistance after line-of-duty injuries and recent mental-health programming. The executive director said the organization is funded by membership dues and donations and listed a website for those who want to contribute.
