Jordan historian previews fall programs, seeks Canal Corp. input on reconstruction

Elaine Peters, the Village of Jordan historian, briefed the Board on recent and upcoming programs, citing events such as "35 Miles on the Erie Canal" (Sept. 2), the History Walk "How it Worked: The Erie Canal in Jordan" (Sept. 7), and a Cemetery Walking Tour "Our Town: Maple Grove Cemetery" (Oct. 25). Peters said she has reached out to the Canal Corporation regarding reconstruction of the canal and dams and plans to assemble a history pamphlet for the nation's 250th celebration.
