Duval County Commissioners on Feb. 9 approved a resolution to apply for Operation Lone Star-FY2026 grant funds from the Office of the Governor to fund the county’s Lone Star participation for the 2026–27 grant cycle. The motion was made by Commissioner Marla M. Garza (Pct. 3) and seconded by Commissioner Martin M. Perez (Pct. 4); the record states it carried with all members present voting "Aye."
