The Memphis Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously May 20 to adopt a resolution establishing a Safe and Supportive School Program Team for each school campus and to authorize the superintendent to take actions necessary to implement the program. The minutes record the precise motion: "I move that the Board adopt the resolution establishing a Safe and Supportive School Program Team for each school campus, and authorizing Superintendent to take such other action as needed to implement the District's Safe and Supportive School Program." Josh Brooks moved the motion and Michael Morris seconded; the vote was 5-0.
