Golf operator pulls back; council reviews contract language about equipment
A golf-course management company notified the city it would suspend operations; councilors raised concerns that contract language may allow the operator to remove mowers, tractors and tools on early termination and directed staff to get the contract and financials reviewed by the city attorney.

Council reviewed a letter from the golf course operator saying it did not intend to continue operating under the current agreement and that the operator would be inactive for a period that began in October and could extend through the winter. Council members expressed concern that the operator’s early termination language could permit removal of equipment the city expects to remain with the golf course.
