Julie Booth introduced a board directive to arrange a Washington, D.C. field trip tied to the nation’s 250th anniversary; the motion as presented asked the superintendent to arrange a May trip for grades 6, 8 and 9–12 and recommended using excess 24‑25 revenues to cover transportation and additional staff overtime. "The board directs the superintendent and his designees to arrange for a field trip to Washington DC this May for all Big Spring students in grades 6, 8, and 9th through 12 who have permission to attend," the agenda language read.
