The board discussed a proposed update to Policy 2-20 on student expression, distribution and posting materials after several board members raised concerns that the proposal could require principal pre-approval for small, informal items (for example birthday invitations). Board member Mrs. Booth argued that the policy as written lacked quantity limits and could overreach: "We're not giving the children any agency to make decisions... every birthday invitation... would all be in pre approval by the principal."
