Residents and the developer of a planned subdivision along Shipe Road sparred on Aug. 13 over a staff condition requiring a road connection to an adjacent subdivision. Speakers for nearby Washington Presbyterian Church and adjacent homeowners described safety, drainage and cut‑through concerns and urged the commission to require the connector, while the developer said the stubout is burdensome and undesired by the immediate neighbors.
