Board approves tractor and telescopic lift purchases for County Engineer
Black Hawk County approved purchase of a 2017 John Deere 5085E tractor with Diamond Mower for $48,000 and a 2023 JLG 860SJ telescopic lift for $108,750, both requested by County Engineer Catherine Nicholas to support bridge and road work.

County Engineer Catherine Nicholas told the board on Aug. 11 that ongoing bridge construction and maintenance work requires updated equipment. The board approved purchase requests submitted by Nicholas: a 2017 John Deere 5085E tractor with Diamond Mower for $48,000 and a 2023 JLG 860SJ telescopic lift for $108,750. The motions were moved and seconded by Supervisors Ritch Kurtenbach and Justin Brandt and were adopted unanimously.
