The Burton ISD Board voted unanimously on July 13, 2026 to delegate contractual authority to the superintendent under Texas Education Code §11.1511(c)(4) for the 2026–27 school year. The delegation was limited to obligating the district under TEC §48.257 and TEC Chapter 49 Subchapters A and D and the rules adopted by the commissioner of education under TEC §49.006.
