Board adopts high-school cell-phone ban during instructional day

The board adopted revised Policy 6025 to prohibit student cell-phone use at the high school "from the start to the end of the instructional day," with discussion of staff modeling, bus discretion, teacher and parent feedback, and implementation examples from Grand Island.

The Ashland-Greenwood Board approved revisions to Policy 6025 governing student cell phones and other electronic devices. The minutes record that the change "specifically impacted procedures at the high school regarding no cell phones at any time from the start to the end of the instructional day." The motion to approve the revised policy was made by David Nygren and seconded by Karen Stille and passed unanimously.
