Committee backs multiple student trips, sends recommendations to full board
The Mason Public Schools Policy and Community Committee supported five overnight and out-of-state/student trips — including a Costa Rica trip in 2028 and a band trip to Washington, D.C. in 2027 — and recommended they be sent to the full Board of Education for approval.

Chair Amy Lark opened the May 21 meeting and the committee reviewed five proposed student trips that the committee supported for referral to the full Board of Education. The trips listed were: a Costa Rica trip in June 2028; the high school band to Washington, D.C., April 22–26, 2027; JV cheer to Alma College July 24–26, 2026; varsity cheer to Alma College August 6–8, 2026; and middle-school cheer to Max Athletics Camp June 18–19, 2026.
