Mayor John Benestante briefed the council on an ongoing sewer rate study and raised concerns about elevated grease readings during quarterly sampling. He said the city has had "some issues with high usage on grease samples" and that a few accounts need sampling tubes so lab samples do not collect surface grease. Mayor Benestante also noted certain service locations use grinder pumps, which should be inspected to ensure they are operating properly before flows reach the treatment plant.
