Kendra Fowler, director of special education, provided the board an overview of House Bill 568 and the requirement to hold a public meeting regarding the performance of students receiving special education services. Fowler and Crystal Damron highlighted the district's use of Read 180, a research-based literacy intervention, and explained that Damron has used Read 180 at the high school for more than 20 years.
