Slaton ISD's administration recommended the Construction Manager At-risk (CMAR) procurement method for the district's new elementary school and the board approved the recommendation unanimously on June 23. Chief Financial Officer Art Martin reviewed both Competitive Sealed Proposal (CSP) and CMAR methods and told the board that "the CMAR method of construction provides the best opportunity for constructing a high quality building at a fair price." The board accepted administration's recommendation to approve CMAR (motion carried 6-0).
