The School Board of Independent School District No. 696 voted unanimously July 13 to approve multiple agreements implementing a 4‑day school week for different employee groups. Moved by Director Omerza and seconded by Director Moravitz, the board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ely Principal's Association and a related 4‑day agreement with the Ely Public School Confidential/Supervisory Employees Association covering 2026–2028. The motions carried 6‑0.
