The minutes record an interim charge directing the committee to "Evaluate the future of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency in the state of Texas and assess Texas’ coordination with federal rules." The charge also directs the committee to examine virtual currency kiosks and to review implementation of Senate Bill 21 from the 89th Legislature. Senator Charles Schwertner presented the charges and opened invited testimony.
