Audit: issues found and fixes applied
Jun 22, 2026
Post-draft audit identified a few clarity and identification issues (notably role/name overlap for Schabbing and missing first names for some contractors/engineer). Revised articles harmonize speaker labels, note missing first names where not provided, and include verbatim clerk quote on emergency plan.

Audit summary: I reviewed the draft articles against the Issues Rules (spelling, clarity, chronology, framing, misinformation, misidentification, out_of_context, quantitative precision, process clarity, context clarity, agency clarity, question emphasis, omission, bias, duplicate). Two items required correction: (1) The minutes refer both to "Commissioner Schabbing" and to "Police Chief Andy Schabbing." The minutes explicitly provide the first name "Andy" with the police-chief title, so revised articles consistently identify that speaker as "Commissioner Andy Schabbing, who also serves as Police Chief." (2) Engineer Beckman and Superintendent Durbin are referenced without first names in the minutes; articles now note that first names were not specified in the minutes. The emergency-plan article now includes the clerk's verbatim line: "the city does not have an emergency plan since we shut the water plant down." No other factual contradictions or misattributions were found.
