Treasurer Lisa Pearman reports roughly $52 million on hand, corrects spreadsheet error

Treasurer Lisa Pearman reported to the Hardin County Fiscal Court that a spreadsheet error in the financial statement was corrected after it was identified by a colleague and that the year-to-date totals are now accurate. "I did send out the, financial statement and the comparison. I did find an error, and I had fixed it," Pearman said, noting Bonnie caught the mistake.

Pearman gave the account balances she had on hand: "At the end of May, restricted money of $19,016,479.36," and a reported grand total of about $52,000,004.65. She said she is still reconciling end-of-year transfers and is aiming to pull only from the industrial fund and the solid-waste fund rather than other budgeted accounts. "My goal is to only pull from the industrial fund and solid waste, not the other ones that we had budgeted," she said, and added that she is waiting on some figures from the jail and payroll before finalizing totals.

Court members thanked Pearman for the correction and for preparing the comparison. Pearman said she would circulate final transfer totals as soon as they are complete, aiming to have the information to the court before the next meeting cycle.

The court did not take formal action on the treasurer's report during the session; staff signaled further reconciliation and transfers will be handled administratively and presented at a future meeting if needed.
