Committee authorizes county to administer New Paltz special election held June 9

The committee unanimously authorized Resolution 445, permitting the chair of the Ulster County Legislature to sign an intermunicipal agreement with the Town of New Paltz for use of county polling equipment and administrative assistance for a June 9, 2026 special election. The county commissioner described the vote as a small, low‑cost special election to approve a property sale for affordable housing and said the town provided short notice but the county accommodated the request.
