Board approves Bluebonnet Learning transition plan; certifies instructional materials

Administrators presented a transition plan to expand the district's Bluebonnet Learning materials into secondary math courses, noting that the plan closely follows the materials adopted last year with the addition of Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II. The presenter said the plan is required by the state when implementing Bluebonnet Learning and serves as a measure of implementation planning and teacher training.

A separate certification of adopted instructional materials was also included in the board packet and approved by trustees; the certification documents the district's adopted materials and confirms they collectively cover the TEKS for required subject areas. "Bluebonnet is implementing algebra 1, geometry, and algebra 2 starting next year," the presenter said when describing the secondary rollout. The board voted to approve the instructional materials allotment and the annual certification.

No amendments to the materials were made in the meeting; administrators said necessary supplemental kits were purchased earlier and campuses will implement the secondary rollout with teacher training and alignment across grade bands.
