Assistant Superintendent Julie Novak told the Board on Jan. 21 that the Department of Defense’s Public Schools on Military Installations assessment of Fort Sam Houston ISD facilities is currently underway. Novak said fieldwork for the 2026 review is expected to be completed by Friday, Jan. 23, 2026; previous DoD reviews were conducted in 2010 and 2017.
