Board changes Tabuer parcel classification, drops assessed value to $3,002

John Tabuer appeared Aug. 4 before the Shenandoah County Board of Equalization and described access issues to a recently purchased parcel on Supinlick Ridge Rd that is lined with more than 80 mailboxes. Tabuer said he bought the lot on July 19, 2026 for $500 and provided an appraisal showing a $20,000 purchase appraisal and a survey; he told the board he has no plans to develop the property and that the post office said it cannot move the mailboxes.
