At the hearing a county staff member placed the 2027 budget in a longer-term context, saying the county’s mill levy has declined from 62.92 to 42.803 mills — roughly a 32% drop over 10 years — and that the county has reduced staffing levels roughly 10–12% from when the presenter started a decade ago.
