County board adopts negative declaration for proposed Highland Quarry EAW
After reviewing the Environmental Assessment Worksheet for Mousel Materials' proposed Highland Quarry, the county adopted a negative declaration, concluding the project does not require an Environmental Impact Statement under MEPA criteria.

Planning staff presented findings of fact from the Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for the proposed Highland Quarry (Mousel Materials) and concluded that the EAW complied with the Minnesota Environmental Policy Act procedures and that foreseeable impacts (dust, stormwater runoff, habitat loss) were limited and acute rather than cumulative. "Based on the criteria in Minnesota rules part 4410.1700, the project does not have the potential for significant environmental effects," staff stated when summarizing findings.
