County planning staff told the board that FEMA's updated flood maps required the county to amend its floodplain regulations, a process completed earlier in the year after a public comment period. "FEMA had updated all of its flood maps for the county, and the state of Minnesota had updated its model flood plain ordinance," the zoning administrator said, noting the county adopted changes in July.
