The Box Elder County Commission voted to adopt Resolution 26‑23 to create an agricultural protection area in the Riverside area, covering 55 parcels totaling 2,204.82 acres. Planning staff said notices were sent to owners within 1,000 feet and to the planning commission and agricultural board; the planning commission conducted a public hearing and recommended approval. "This particular ag protection was brought in for an application in April. There are 55 parcels totaling 2,204.82 acres," staff stated during the hearing.
