The Merkel ISD Board of Trustees voted July 15, 2026, to adopt the 2026–2027 Athletic Code of Conduct with amendments presented by Wes Wood. The motion to approve the code with the presented changes was moved by Kerry Fryar, seconded by Colton Grisham, and passed unanimously.
