Town planning staff told the Historic Preservation Board that the 'Castle Rock style' document (1996) and the historic-preservation plan are dated and that a 2010 code change replaced community nomination authority with a demolition-review process; staff plans to request budget to update documents and consider a CLG grant for surveys.

Brad Boland, a town staffer, told the Historic Preservation Board that the Castle Rock style guide (adopted 1996) and the historic preservation plan are overdue for review. He said some provisions in the older documents are outdated and noted a 2010 code revision replaced direct community nomination authority with a demolition-review process to address historic properties.
