Olean reaffirms fair housing commitment; public hearing held with no public comments

The Olean Common Council opened a public hearing on April 28, 2026, for information and public input on fair housing policy and reaffirmed the city’s annual observance of Fair Housing Month. Carrie Kerper, the city’s fair housing officer and community development program coordinator, read the notice and provided a brief overview of federal shifts in enforcement priorities, including the administration’s actions around disparate-impact doctrine and the termination of the 2015 AFFH rule.
