Council approves housekeeping code updates to allow email notices

Council treated a previously introduced housekeeping ordinance as a second reading and authorized updates to the Langley Municipal Code to modernize meeting notices (including using email instead of postal mail) and other small code changes encouraged by MRSC.

The council moved and seconded an ordinance described as a housekeeping update to several municipal code chapters to simplify and standardize notices and related procedures. Deputy Clerk Kristen Abraham described the primary operational change as moving from postal mail to email for meeting notices. "Generally, the big one is using email instead of snail mail for meeting notices," Abraham said during the reading.
